Frequently Asked Questions
related to Emerald Tide Health

  • In a traditional medical setting, insurance rules how long visits can be, what topics can be addressed, and how care is documented and reimbursed. This especially affects women in midlife, navigating complex, sensitive concerns like hormonal shifts, sexual health, mood changes, weight gain, sleep issues, and more.

Here’s what happens in an insurance-based system:

    • Rushed appointments. Most insurance-based primary care visits are limited to 10–15 minutes. That’s barely enough time to check a blood pressure, let alone unpack the nuances of perimenopause, libido changes, or persistent fatigue.

    • Fragmented, symptom-based care. Insurance billing codes force physicians to address one problem at a time. But midlife health isn’t a “one problem at a time” situation — it’s interconnected. Your mood, hormones, metabolic health, weight, and relationships are all tied together.

    • Uncomfortable, hurried conversations. Many women report feeling dismissed or brushed off when they bring up topics related to their health. In a system driven by speed and productivity quotas, deeply personal concerns often get cut short or deprioritized.

    • Limited access and impersonal care. In large, insurance-driven practices based on volume rather than value, it’s common to wait weeks for an appointment, see different providers each time, or be funneled through impersonal phone trees and portals just to get a question answered.

What Direct Primary Care Offers Instead

A DPC practice removes insurance from the relationship with your physician. Patients pay a simple, transparent membership fee — and in return, they get care that’s relationship-based, not insurance-based.

    For my patients, this means:

    • Longer, unhurried visits. You can discuss what’s on your mind without feeling rushed.

    • No restrictions on topics. Want to talk about brain fog, libido, hormone therapy options, pelvic floor changes, or how your body’s changing in ways you weren’t prepared for? It’s all fair game — and welcomed.

    • Direct access to your doctor. Text, call, or email your questions directly. No middlemen, no waiting weeks for an answer. Investment in a longitudinal relationship with your physician.

    • A focus on prevention, not just problems. Instead of reacting to issues when they hit crisis mode, DPC emphasizes staying ahead of health challenges — including proactively navigating perimenopause and midlife changes to avoid future frailty and illness when possible.

  • I am a family physician with 15 years of experience and added training and interest in menopause certification and midlife health.

    It’s Whole-Body, Whole-Life Care.
A primary care physician isn’t just looking at one organ system. I understand how your hormones affect your sleep, mood, weight, heart, brain, bones, and relationships. I can address that hot flash and your blood pressure or insulin resistance. That low libido and your thyroid. That insomnia and your stress at work. All in one place.

    Continuity of Care.
Primary care is built on long-term relationships. I value knowing your history, your family background, your lifestyle, and your health goals. That means I can connect the dots between what’s happening now and what’s been building over time — and personalize care accordingly.

Expertise in Prevention and Risk Management.
Midlife is when future health risks start to take shape: heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, breast cancer, cognitive decline. A good primary care doctor isn’t just managing symptoms today — they’re thinking 10, 20 years ahead and putting a plan in place to keep you strong, sharp, and thriving as you age.

    Comfort with Sensitive, Complex Conversations.
Topics like sexual health, relationship changes, emotional shifts, and menopause symptoms don’t live in a silo — and they often don’t fit neatly into a specialist’s quick visit template. Primary care offers space for these nuanced, personal conversations, with someone you trust and who sees the full picture.

    Coordination of Care When Needed.
If you do need a gynecologist for a procedure, a cardiologist for palpitations, or a pelvic floor therapist for discomfort — I will refer you to the right person, at the right time, and help coordinate your care. I am in your corner, overseeing the big picture.

  • Enrollment begins August 2025.

More information to come on this website.

You can request a free meet and greet starting August 2025 to learn more about how we can work together. From there, we’ll schedule your first visit when the practice opens in September 2025, where we’ll review your health history, concerns, and goals, and create a personalized care plan just for you.

For my former patients, we can jump right in and book your first visit when my calendar opens in August/September.

  • One of the biggest benefits of joining a direct primary care (DPC) practice is the unmatched access to your doctor. As a member, you’ll have direct communication with me through text, phone, or email during business hours, and we can often schedule same-day or next-day visits if needed. No phone trees, no weeks-long waits, no rushed appointments.

Your health matters — and so does your peace of mind.

That said, part of providing excellent, sustainable care means also taking time to recharge, spend time with my family, and care for my own health. From time to time, I’ll be out of the office for vacation, professional conferences, or personal days and will communicate this clearly.

  • This practice was created with a special focus on women, particularly in midlife — a stage of life often overlooked and underserved in traditional healthcare. But my practice is for women in any stage of life seeking thoughtful, comprehensive support for the unique challenges women face. Working women, busy Moms, women for whom the traditional system no longer serves or those looking to forge a better relationship with their physician.

Membership at Emerald Tide Health does not replace your health insurance and is not considered health insurance. It is recommended to maintain coverage for larger medical expenses outside the scope of primary care.

  • There is no obligation and you can cancel anytime with a 30 day notice.

If you decide to rejoin later, there is a $250 re-enrollment fee.

  • DPC is concierge-like care without additional fees. Unlike traditional concierge practice, I do not bill insurance or charge copays in addition to membership fees.  Billing is simple and transparent.

  • HMO plans require an in-network provider to order referrals and some tests in order for them to be covered. Dr. Eurich is considered out of network and does not contract with insurance companies, your in-network PCP is needed to manage those needs.

Even with good insurance, you may encounter high deductibles, difficulty accessing your PCP, short problem-based visits and unanticipated bills. Emerald Tide Health membership addresses  these issues with transparent billing and timely access to Dr. Eurich with visit lengths to meet your needs.

I’ll work closely with you to explore cost-effective strategies— whether that’s accessing discounted cash-pay pricing for labs and imaging or using prescription discount programs to fit your needs and budget.
